Quick to Erect - Easy to Add More - Strong - Durable - Easy to Maintain - Equestrian Wood Stables
Bonus! these structures can just as easily be used as sheds to store grass, tools or implements!
We build our equestrian wood stables from a combination of shutter-ply wood panels and a variety of steel products.
We recommend three wood stables size options, depending on your needs. The smaller stables, mostly suited to house ponies, are 3 m x 3 m. Medium stables are 3.6 m x 3.6 m, and the large stables are 4 m x 4 m. All the wall panels are build to a standard height of 2.4 meters.
We recommend pitched roofs instead of flat roofs. A pitched roof increases headroom for the horses inside the wood stables and helps with a lower temperature during the hot months. We can use corrugated or IBR roof sheeting, but we usually recommend that IBR is used as it is stronger than corrugated.
Although it is not necessary to have windows in the wood stables, it is recommended to have them. Windows help regulate airflow and temperature in the stables. It also gives your horses the option to have a different view.
Wood stables dividers are made up of wood panels and are 2.4 m tall. Depending on your preference, dividers can be solid without any openings or openings can be added where horses can see each other. We recommend that our unique welded mesh stable dividers are installed in openings. This helps prevent the horses from hurting each other but still allows them to see each other and therefor interact socially.
Typically most equestrian owners paint the steel sections of the wood stables black and treat the wood panels with a natural wood product. It does not need to be that combination, one could use any combination of colours available at paint shops. The most import thing is to use rust preventing paint on the steel and to use outdoor wood paints to help increase the lifespan of the wood.
It is not a prerequisite to build a foundation for a wood stables. However, it does significantly improve the construction of the stables in terms of structural strength and ensuring a level building. The challenge can be that building a foundation can be costly. But fear not! If building a foundation does not fit in your budget, we have an excellent "stilts" system which will do the job. Just remember that you will need to fill up your stables with sand or a similar material if the bottom of the stables are elevated due to a sloping or uneven ground level.
Strong - Durable - Equestrian Brick stables
Bonus! these structures can just as easily be used as sheds to store grass, tools or implements!
These equestrian brick stables structures are built with standard building materials such as cement or clay bricks, cement, sand, and concrete.
Any size brick stables can be built, but just like our wood stables, we recommend three size options, I.E. 3 m x 3 m for ponies, 3.6 m x 3.6 m for horses, and 4 m x 4 m for large horses. Walls are usually built to a height of 2.7 m but in some cases customers prefer 3 m high walls.
For the brick stables stables we recommend timber trussed roofs with IBR roof sheeting and just like our wood stables l stables we recommend pitched roofs for the same reasons.
Although it is not necessary to have windows in the brick stables, it is recommended to have them. Windows help regulate airflow and temperature in the stables. It also gives your horses the option to have a different view.
An interesting feature of brick stables stables is that one can either build stable dividers from brick or one can make wood paneled sections. It simply depends on what your requirements or preferences are. Dividers will be custom build to your specifications. Should there be openings in your dividers, we recommend that our unique welded mesh stable dividers are installed in openings. This helps prevent the horses from hurting each other but still allows them to see each other and therefor interact socially.
Depending on what bricks you use or how your brickwork was done, it is up to you how you want to finish your brick stables . Mostly equestrian customers that build with cement stock bricks would plaster the walls and then paint them. Customers who prefer clay bricks often prefer to leave the bricks exposed to have the "rustic" look.
It is a prerequisite to build a foundation for a brick stables stable.
Quick to Erect - Durable - Equestrian Paddock Shade Port
We build our equestrian paddock shade ports from treated wood poles, timber and a variety of roofing materials.
There is no standard size that we build for these equestrian structures, but we do believe that a 3 m x 6 m structure per paddock is a decent size for any horses. To time (and a little money), one can built 6 m x 6 m structures which straddle two paddocks, therefore ensuring each paddock has a shade port.
We prefer to build our equestrian shade ports with timber trusses and roof sheeting (corrugated or IBR). These structures do not need a pitch roof as there is ample airflow outside. A more affordable option to timer and roof sheeting is shade net.
Usually very little finishing is required for the equestrian paddock shade ports. If you have a roof made of roof sheeting, you could paint it, but it is up to you.
Strong - Durable - Equestrian Walls
